I used one of these and noticed instant power and smoother operations at high speed, it totally eliminated point wobble and gave out super juicy sparks at over 60,000 volts, this coupled with an Optima Red Top and my electrics were almost perfect. Only way to make it any better would have been to use a MSD ignition and distributor, my 009 liked to twist so I needed to use a billet clamp with more surface area in contact with the distributor shaft to try to hold it still.
In retrospect I might have needed to lubricate the distributor...

One of my regrets is never having made a video of my bug running or never recording an audio file of the engine winding up. Used VW roll rockerers and chrome molly push rods to keep the valves moving at high RPM. My mechanic loved to gun the hell out of my engine and every one in the shop would get really excited by my old rust bucket...
