Four hours later, and my Mac Mini has a running 500GB HDD now. Yay.

The actual install was basically painless thanks to checking out the various how to's on the internet and learning that I would need to use a putty knife to open the little beast up. Who would have thought that would be in the tool chest of a computer geek.
What took the longest was copying all the data off of the old drive to an external drive then back on to the new drive once installed. This was easier putting the data back on as the new drive is a 7200 rpm drive and the original drive was a 5400 rpm. Almost 200 rpm makes a big difference.
I think that this is a band aid until I get a new Mini when the next generation comes out. Rumors abound of a Mini with a HDMI port. If only there were words to describe how exciting that is to me.

This baby serves me quite well, it has nice IQ (image quality)  and super sturdy build that is reflected in the tramendous heft of this can of glass.

    Had a late lunch here

So after a afternoon of culture and history it was time to eat, so we went to Daikokuya.

There were some thing like 12 parties ahead of us so we milled about outside.

Once we got in, my suspicions of any thing downtown were quelled upon seeing this sign, they did in deed earn the health department A.

And it was no small feat given how busy the place is, not to mention how good the food is.

    Phillip Marlowe

"I needed a drink, I needed a lot of life insurance, I needed a vacation, I needed a home in the country. What I had was a coat, a hat and a gun."

    Closed.

It's like a game of where's Waldo, but it's me... I see six of me right away and that is all I think. How many of me do you see?

White cars work best at warp speed

This shot was taken with a HOYA NDX400 9 stop neutral density filter and the lens was set to F1.2 at around noon. So the effective light reaching the sensor from the mid day sun would equal an aperture value of F22, one stop past lens's maximum.
White cars seem to work nice I suppose due to a high exposure value (EV) given the high speed lens with slow light.
This picture has a couple of neat aspects to it, first one wheel width in front of the car at about the 11 o'clock position there is a reflection of the car in a window which is blurred out just as much as the background, and second the white of the car on upward facing planes is in fact reflecting the blue of the sky adding a slight cool cast to the picture.

Workers doing what they do best, working.

Some times you have to think out side of the box and get a little vertical in your thinking.

    Another HDR

This one I took control over the color and all and kept the noise out of it for the most part.

Used to be the Ritz, now it's the Federal Court House

Uncle Sam has good taste when it comes to aquiring property, and money must not be an object. Must be nice.
