So after a short day I went up to Pasadena to take pictures of the old buildings that have been renovated and try to capture a bit of the feel of the old city that if you look carefully you can still see and with a little bit of thanks to the city for posting plaques that give the histories of some of the famous people and places in the area.
I went from the alleys of old town, churches, city hall and the public library as an afternoons adventure.

Glass review...

The lens on the left is a recent purchase that I got because I was so thrilled with the lens on the right which is a Angenieux design that is f/2.6 at 28mm and f/2.8 at 70mm and this war horse is built like a tank and weights just about as much to.
The lens on the left is a 20-35 f/2.8 that I am not getting any thing close to stellar results with, it is a dual aspherical element design with one in front and one in back but the images come out unreliably soft through out the range of aperture settings. This is too bad because the lens does not show much barrel, pin cushion distortion, or fringing when wide open so it looks like I more than likely have a questionable copy of this lens.
Back to my well loved Nikkors, love the glass.
